Cappuccino Stout vs Bell's Java Stout vs Founder's Breakfast Stout

Homebrewed Cappuccino Stout: 6.8% ABV, 40 IBUs, Pitch black, full bodied, with a dense khaki head. Strong coffee flavor that is dominant without being overpowering. It is hard to decipher which flavors are coming from the coffee beans and dark roasted malts. Great balance between the malt and hops.

Bell's Java Stout: 7.5% ABV, From Bell's website, Java Stout uses a custom blend of coffee beans, roasted locally for us by Water Street Coffee Joint, to generate its intense flavor. Possessing an unmistakable aromatic punch, Java Stout has long been one of our most popular stouts.

Founder's Breakfast Stout: From Founder's website,  The coffee lover’s consummate beer. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and imported chocolates, and Sumatra and Kona coffee, this stout has an intense fresh-roasted java nose topped with a frothy, cinnamon-colored head that goes forever.

The chocolate notes and alcohol boost from Founder's Breakfast stout help it stand apart from the other two beers. This is clearly an exceptional beer. I am not a huge fan of the smokey charcter I am getting from the coffee in Java Stout, but the base beer is solid. Honestly, I enjoy Cappuccino Stout the best. Breakfast Stout is a world class beer, but the high ABV makes it more of a sipping beer. I also really like the coffee I used from Mighty Good Coffee Roasters, in Ann Arbor. The beans almost give off a milk chocolate non astringent character in the final beer that makes this stout great.
