Brewery Vivant - Grand Rapids, MI

One of Grand Rapids, MI most sought after breweries. Brewery Vivant is located in an refurbished, old church in east Grand Rapids.  In a crowded Grand Rapids market, Brewery Vivant stands out by brewing mainly Belgian and French farmhouse ales. If you don't like farmhouse ales they brew clean American styles as well. Great beer, food, and atmoshpere make a memorable experience.

The beers:
  • Big Red Coq- 6% ABV Belgo-American Red Ale. This beer has From the brewery:
The deep red hue comes from the special malts we use and give the beer the backbone it needs to stand up to the excessive hop charges that the brewers throw in. Citra hops give this beer the mango, tropical fruit, citrusy goodness that we love.

    • Everything you want from this "style" of beer. Great ruby red color, tropical hops that blend well with the belgian yeast, and enough malt for balance.

  •  Tropical Saison - 6.5% ABV Saison brewed with Mango and Pineaple. From the brewery:
A saison brewed with real pineapple and mango juice. Not cloyingly sweet, with a light spiciness to it, this is a delightfully complex saison.

    •  I found the pineapple and mango juice to be a little too "shandy" like.
